New theme questions are sent to the theme repo. But what happens if the theme author refuses to offer help? This one is a popular theme and its author refuses to answer theme questions. Should such themes be banned from the theme showcase?
Of course not.
The theme author was generous to share their work. Whether or not they choose to maintain or support the theme is entirely up to them.

I would suggest you fork the theme or use another one altogether. I went through the closed issues in that repo and all support questions are closed as invalid.

Yes, exactly as the supplied FAQ clearly states they will be.
It is also made clear that the theme author does not provide support.
