The problem with a scheduled chat, rather than asynchronous posts on a forum, is that inevitably someone somewhere in the world is asleep and has to get up in the middle of the night in order to participate.
So my preference is for the forum as is - with perhaps the development of a wayfinding mechanism that is better aligned to the functional structure of the features/code so that it is easier to relate topics/posts to concerns. Just saying. Graham Hay - New Zealand
