When developing locally, I have to manually save each file to see changes every time

When I run hugo serve my homepage is totaly empty. But, then if i make a change to index.md, save it, then refresh the browser, the changes appear.

I have to do the same song and dance to have my theme applied (which is currently set to hugo-xmin).

I’m wondering what I am doing wrong.

Rename content/index.md to content/_index.md.
