What are the most popular Hugo themes?

Hello everyone,

I’m very glad to see that Hugo is doing well :slight_smile:

I am currently seeking a theme. But as the list grows more and more, I find that some themes are not especially popular (yet !!) when others have many commits and stars on Github.

I am wondering if there is a way to sort themes by other criteria, just like it is done on staticgen.com. For instance, what are the 5 most popular themes (GH stars or so)?

Some criteria ideas:

  • GH stars
  • author
  • hugo version
  • forks on GH
  • last updated
  • …

I built this a while ago. It has a list of top-starred (on GH) themes as well.

I see that the stars are well counted. Just by curiosity, how often is this site updated?

Whenever I remember… :sweat_smile: which is usually when I see a new theme announcement on twitter.

I’ve been meaning to set it up to auto-update, but I never got around to it.

If you have no server but are on Linux, you can create a cron job on your personal account. Always better than nothing :slight_smile:

Anyway it is a great job!
