OT: How to make a mobile menu?

I have a website using “SlickNav” to generate the mobile menu:


However this tool seems unmaintained and broken.

It seems that I have to redevelop mobile menus from scratch…
Any advises on how to do that without suffering too much?
Could you point me to some tutorials or good templates that I can learn from?
