Is there a timeline for, or a roadmap to, Hugo v1?

nope.
No date, but we’re getting closer.
I assume the question relates to stability, e.g. no breaking changes within major versions.
With that, we would have incremented the major versions from v0.145 to v0.146 from, say, v4 to v5, but we would not have spent any effort to make v5 backwards compatible with v4 (since major increments by definitions allows breaking changes), and v4 would probably not receive any bug fixes anymore. Which I’m not convinced would be a more stable situation.
Ultimately, this is open source software developed by people mostly on their free time, so a v1 will come when it comes. Until then, it’s very usable as is, but you need to be a little careful when update minor version upgrades.
