I’m hosting my Hugo website on Firebase hosting on 22 December 2023, The website domain is like mywebsite.domain.com but it doesn’t provision its own SLL Certificate, which displays other website SSL Certificates. Why?
This is a question you need to ask Firebase support.
Hugo generates HTML,CSS and JS files that you can upload to any number of hosting solutions. Anything related to certificates is well out of what Hugo does.

If hosting on Firebase is not a requirement, you may try Cloudflare pages or Netlify or Render or other deployment options. These provide automatic SSL deployment without much issues on free plan.
