Why is the Hugo framework updated almost every week? (looking at GitHub releases).
How do you keep track of Hugo updates? Do I need to read every GitHub release to stay up to date?
Will you review or mention the biggest updates and changes on the Hugo blog or here in the forum? For example, a summary of major changes over the last 6 or 12 months?
If you want to keep updated on new releases you have News (with RSS feed) or you can go directly to Releases · gohugoio/hugo · GitHub that have all the details.
It is also perfectly ok to just keep using whatever Hugo version you have now for years to come if you are happy with it.
I still have sites around that use Hugo v0.5.x. They work and they do not need updates. The day a customer wants to do something bigger with them I will likely update the theme but not before that. This is one of many benefits with Hugo, a single binary that just works.
I think we are very fortunate that Hugo development are so active.
