What can I do to get my blog indexed by Google?

I noticed that after a few posts being uploaded the site is still not crawled or indexed by Google. I am confused on what the process actually is because many of the instructions found online refer to a Google Search Console interface that no longer exists or a site hosting infrastructure that does not apply to me.

The one thing I have implemented is uploading a robots file here: https://sumant-28.github.io/robots.txt which I have been told will now make Google index my site. If that is true how long does the process take?

It is now working I think the http method which was not creating the changes I was hoping now suddenly works. Thank you for the help
