Adding disqusShortname = “rjain15” # optional
in the config.toml doesn’t work

Do I have to something on the Disqus website? Add this as an app?

I’m pretty sure you have to setup an account with Disqus.

I had a disqus account, but I had to create a site to add disqus to it.
