Problem With Custom Homepage Text

Hi there,

I’m converting one of my sites to Hugo and am having a few problems with the sites homepage.

I’m using the Mainroad theme.

In the “content” directory I have created the “_index.md” file and added some custom welcome text that I wish to show on the homepage above the latest posts. I have this working correctly and have added my custom text to the homepage which works great.

However, when I go to page 2-3-4-5 ect it still shows this text, rather than it just being the homepage. This really isn’t suitable for my site and also creates a lot of duplicate content.

I wondered how it’s possible to make this show only on the homepage rather than across all the post list pages?
