I am noticing flickering when navigating between pages on any demo theme in Hugo Themes https://themes.gohugo.io, For example

https://themes.gohugo.io/theme/hugo-theme-dream/

Browser: Firefox Quantum 61.0.1 (64-bit)
OS: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
RAM: 16GB
Cores: 4

The themes you have linked to have fade-in transitions on load.

In any case I cannot reproduce in Firefox Quantum on Xubuntu 16.04.

Do you happen to use Wayland by any chance?

I am not using Wayland

These other themes show white page while navigating to another page. Is this the expected behavior?

From what I see, the Hugo LAMP theme does show a white page momentarily once you click on the Cover Post Example, but not on other posts.

I don’t see any white page in the Simplicity theme.

I think that if you want to use a theme and you see flickering, you could ask the theme author on GitHub.

We really don’t go into the specifics of CSS and JS when reviewing themes (unless something is out of the ordinary).

But overall I just don’t see page flickering in the demos of Hugo Themes (and I’ve spent quite a bit of time reviewing themes lately).
