Multilingual intra-site links in content pages

Seems trivial but I couldn’t find it in the docs…

Say I have an “about” page, and from there I want to link to the “contact” page. These are content pages so the links need to be in markdown. What’s the best practice for writing these links, assuming each page has multiple translations and the final rendered URLs include the language prefix.

For example should I just do my links like this? Or is there another recommended approach?

You can [contact us here](/en/contact/)

You can use relref shortcodes.

From documentation:

{{< relref path="document.md" lang="ja" >}}
