HTML Theme

Hi everyone,

I am new to Hugo and I have been searching for a solution to this for some time.

I have an HTML theme which was bought from Envato Market for my company’s website. Recently we have been looking into moving our website to Hugo. However, from what I have been able to find, Hugo doesn’t take HTML themes as-they-are.
Can someone help me with this? Is there a way to use a commercial HTML theme?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best regards,
Hugo

Of course, but you will need to write the templating for it. To get up and running with Hugo–or at least to build out your own site–you’ll need basic HTML/frontend dev (or interest in learning ). I can’t help you port the entire theme over because it’s beyond the scope of Hugo support, but if you point me to a repository, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

I would suggest started with the documentation.

hi @rdwatters, thank you so much for providing some help on this topic.

Unfortunately I do not have a repo to point you. I can, however, leave the theme’s website here:

Any pointers you might be able to give me towards the direction I need to take are most welcome. I have no problem with having to learn new stuff, my question is: where can I find that new stuff?

I have read the docs’ themes section but up until now it is not yet very clear to me how to port the theme.

Thank you once again.
