Does anyone have any resources for understanding Mounts?

I was having a hard time trying to include a picture in my posts using PaperMod
Unable to post an image - support - HUGO (gohugo.io)

Someone mentioned that I should use Mounts but I am having a hard time with that.
Does anyone have any resources for how to use these?
I already have the Hugo page on mounts.

I think I am going to want to create a mount coming from my images.
Something like this?

  [[images.mounts]]
    source = "NeedToFind"
    target = "NeedToFigureOut"

If I remember right you tried to head on with symlinks and I just stated that you cannot use that and have to use mounts for such functionality.

to clarify: for a simple site there’s no need to use mounts to get images working

you got it wrong, have a look at the [mounts example]/Configure Hugo modules | Hugo) and compare with your posted snippet.
