Documentation of Subdomains for multilingual site

I have a multilingual (4 languages) website running on hugo. right now it has urls like https://example.com/en/ about and https://example.com/de/

I want subdomains for urls like https://en.example.com and https://de.example.com

I know it is possible, but I can’t find a good documentation or tutorial to illustrate the right configuration.

It is appreciated if anybody can help me out. Thanks.
