Useful/essential frontmatter?

Are there any very useful/essential front matter you guys use for you Hugo sites?

It mostly depends on the theme you use. Default ones are listed in the documentation, I don’t use more than half of them.

I recommend checking the file archetypes/default.md from the theme you’d like to use, you can sometime get an idea of the supported front matter / metadata / features

This! And also depending on your site’s or theme’s requirements, you can add more. But things like title, lastmod, slug or url, date, description and summary can be good, especially to populate things like SEO metadata. Others like tags or keywords, or authors for a multi-author site…the choice is unlimited.
