Probleme with hugo gen chromastyles

Hy,

I’m working on the render-code-block.

When I run the command hugo gen chromastyles --style monokailight assets\css\syntax.css in my hugo folder, it creates the file for me but does not fill it.

Do you have any idea what the problem is? Is it like that in your case too?

PS : I copy/paste the tags by hand but when I paste the code, it adds a line break every time.
The result is corect without syntax.css

You need to use a redirection operator to write the gen commands output to a file.

hugo gen chromastyles --style=monokailight > assets/css/syntax.css

Well, by entering an example of a file found on the net it works.

So there is a generation problem for me.

And what appears in the terminal there must be errors.

By understanding the two files what blocks and adds an eligne when copying is

I’m not sure what you’re doing, but I can assure you that the command with the redirect works as expected. Maybe you need to try a simple test:

hugo gen chromastyles --style=monokailight > foo.css

Again, I’m not sure what you are doing, but this isn’t a Hugo problem. Perhaps you can record your terminal session, then share it so that we can see exactly what you are doing.

What OS? What shell?

You’ve got backslashes but a unix-looking prompt. Perhaps you are in WSL and are using Windows path separator while in WSL? (You need a ‘/’ not ‘\’ in WSL / Linux).

Is wrong in a Linux terminal: It should be

hugo gen chromastyles --style monokailight > assets/css/syntax.css

Note the use of / instead of \ and the redirect >

I just tested your order and I have the file creation but it is empty.

As you can see there is no generation of css.

While this command (without the >) generates the CSS lines in the CLI but still does not fill them in the CSS file.

As you can see there is no generation of css.

Have you actually opened the file assets/css/syntaxcssessai.css to see what it contains?

I’m pretty sure it contains the styles and everything works exactly as it supposed to.
