Pagination: How to display list of page numbers in paginator?

I don’t know if this is a theme question or hugo question. The theme I am using shows “prev” and “next” paginators but does not show a range of page numbers in between them as is typical on many websites.

How can I display a subset of the intermediate page numbers between the prev and next and highlight the current page? Does hugo have some in built feature for this in the Paginator?

The paginator is quite powerful in Hugo, but not in sense of “add a tag, configure some numbers”. You will have to contact your themes designer to implement/change these things.
