I come up with a wrong reminder that “Error: no existing content directory configured for this project” when I use hugo new post command.
I’ve checked the command is right. The command is operated under the root directory.

If you know that the command is right then it should work as expected.
But my guess is that it’s not right. To know we would need to know your configuration. We would need to know where your content directory is and if you changed anything about that.
I get it. Config.toml file defined a command sentence contentDir = ‘content/en’

If you have specified contentDir: param in config then use the specific path
