I would like to know if it is useful to translate the documentation in other languages than English and Chinese (ex: French or Spanish).
It could help non-native English and non-native Chinese people to use Hugo and make it more new user-friendly.

But:
You (we) need someone proficient in that language translating the WHOLE documentation. Which is a mammoth task. The reason Chinese and English are the only translations is probably because Hugo has Chinese and English speaking developers with enough time for that.
It’s not just translating, it’s also updating, extending on new features and so on. A huge commitment.
I am native French so I can easily translate the documentation.
And no problem with updating the documentation when a new version is released.
