Is development server enough for local development?

Hello,

at the moment I use Grav (flat-file CMS) which is written in PHP and on my localhost machine I use Hiawatha web server + PHP-FPM. Now I’m moving (back) to Hugo and wonder whether you consider that the development server included with Hugo is good-enough for testing web sites locally on my machine which would enable me to get rid rid of present webserver along with accompanying PHP-stuff presently installed?

That’s the intent of the hugo server. I do all of my dev work locally with Hugo server mode and publish the site to S3 for production. Never run a “real” web server for my Hugo sites.
