Images for posts

Hi,

I’m using the GitHub - forestryio/hugo-theme-novela: Novela, the simplest way to start publishing with Hugo and Forestry. theme, trying to insert an image to display against the post when on the index page, but for the life of me I cannot. I’ve visited about 50 pages and each of them has differing instructions, how can there be so many different ways :see_no_evil: . I’m using markdown templating to create the post. Would someone help shed some light on this please?

Thanks.

Cagiti.

If you look at the sample post in the theme’s included exampleSite folder, you will see in the front matter:

hero: /images/hero-4.jpg

which corresponds to this file.

So if you want to use your own custom image, add it to your static folder, and add a reference to it on your frontmatter.

this is why you can’t set an image.

Quickfix: delete post from forestry front-matter menu.

  1. click on add template button
  2. select an existing document
  3. select a blog post name.

you are done, now you can create new post with image
