How to change file extension for homepage

I have created a site and am deploying it to SharePoint (I know… it’s my only option), but I can’t seem to get the homepage to generate with the correct file extension.

I’ve set defaultExtension to “aspx”, which is working for all pages except the homepage, which generates as index.html. How do I get the homepage to generate to index.aspx (or even default.aspx)?

Any help is much appreciated!

Not currently possible out of the box, see

Didn’t know we had a defaultExtension … Hmm… Yes, home page should use that, too. I will make this a bug. In the mean time you will have to create a rename-script or something.
