GUI interface / CMS in 2024?

Hello!

I am almost finished with this static website (GitHub - Discopigeononline/Creatip: Code source pour le site JAMStack de l'association Creatip) and need to find some easy GUI interface that could allow the owner of the website to modify and update its content in a non-technical way at all. I’m very much unaware of CMS options or understand how it works as this is my first website but I wish for the owner to be able to update his website preferably online but if he needs to install a software it’s fine too, as long as he doesn’t need to write in markdown or deal with Github or any code editor.
Given how little content his website will feature, a free (or with free tier), lightweight CMS would be preferable and I have seen the names of Translucide or TinaCMS to pop in my search results but without being able to figure if it’s what I need for this projects while perusing the docs as my knowledge seems too shallow.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I don’t need any templates or unnecessary features but really just want a simple GUI interface that I could hook up to the github repo and have some automatic deployment so as not need my intervention on content modification. For the rest I’ll handle myself if future changes are required to things beyond content.

Thank you for your help and have a lovely day!

You can take a look at my curated list.

Most of the CMS listed, I haven’t tested because my requirements are different. Most of the CMS fail to meet them.

Decap or Static are good to use. I use DECAP

I would recommend Decap and Static CMS too, both free, open source and actively maintained as far as I remember.

Thank you all for your replies, I find it very helpful despite the many unmaintained or sunseted projects, feels like CMS is an ever-changing field. Does anyone knows if a static site editor would allow for my requirements? Cause in the end, I only need the owner of the website to modify content and add posts (with attached pdf), tasks for which a cms seems like overkill. But then again are static site editors considered a cms?

I’ll go ahead with Decap in the end, thank you for your exhaustive list, many of the other options I was hesitating with are also in it (quikqr, tina…).
