Can hugo show less picture on mobile while default amount of picture on desktop?

Is this theme specific question ?
I am using hugo-clarityhttps://themes.gohugo.io/themes/hugo-clarity, and would like to show less images on mobile devices, At the same time, would like to maintain the default amount of images while on desktop.
How can we do that with hugo ( hugo-clarity) ?

Yes, this is a theme-specific question. Hugo builds pages, the decision about where to hide or show an element is up to developers.
