Best way to create modals and populate them with data

But within Hugo are there any recommended means of doing so. Ideally reading from a JSON file with links so I don’t have to manually put everything in?

Are there any libraries or examples or will I have to create these from scratch.

So, the answer would still be JavaScript – but I would recommend having a look at AlpineJS:

I have created this repo: hugo-mod-jslibs-dist/alpinejs at main · gohugoio/hugo-mod-jslibs-dist · GitHub The above lets you avoid using NPM for this … also, the above repo applies some critical memory leak patches (will eventually get into upstream) that makes it work great with the Turbo framework.
