I’m thinking about developing some commercial, and fully supported, bespoke themes for Hugo, and I’m wondering what features you may find that are “must have”. So, is there an audience for that?
Most of the people here are Devs themselves, with that said, here is my (non exhaustive) laundry list of features that a Hugo theme should have:
Be responsive (as all sites should be in this day and age)
Offer multilingual support and menu configuration
Use .Resources and image processing
Offer a srcset shortcode
And finally the author should be on the lookout for new Hugo features and update the theme accordingly while offering backwards compatibility.
