I love Hugo for much more than that, but for many people the number 1 reason for moving to it is build speed.
I think we should allow people to brag about it in their footer or at least print it somewhere 
Took me a second (average hugo buildtime) to understand it was not doable. But I’ll leave this thread here as a warning to all: think before your post!
You can divide the total time of generation of the site by the number of pages and get the average time of page generation. This number you can insert into the footer of each page
Just don’t ask me to get it working from shortcodes … You should get work in one of Elon Musk’s companies.

Just for the record (I don’t think we should spend time on this): If store the build times in a file/database you can, of course, present some stats in the footer …
