Post-receive: line 1: –: command not found

This isn’t a hugo issue, but maybe some of you ran into the same error and can shed some light on this.

I setup deployment of a hugo site with git commit hooks as described here on a shared webspace:

Everything works as expected but I always get this error message after execution of post-receive:

 post-receive: line 1: –: command not found

Any hints?

A typo, instead of trap - EXIT I copied the a wrong trap – EXIT from the Tutorial.
