What if I want to host my website on Github.
I read somewhere there’s a limit of 3000 files in a diff on Github.
How does that relate to Hugo? What if my website exceeds 3000 posts and I update them frequently?

No, but all my pages change each day.
Because the sidebar contains all my latest posts…
What solution do you guys recommend? I had SSI includes before, but I want to change to static cloud webhosting
It is not related to Hugo. You have to reconcile your usage with any service provider. Please use support for Hugo-specific questions (as opposed to general hosting concerns).
