Why is the package update on the Snap store delayed?
There is currently an issue on the Snapcraft side regarding manual review triggers:
https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/unexpected-automated-review-trigger-for-hugo/53443
The current version published to the Snap Store is v0.165.0. Once the review queue backlog is resolved, I suspect v0.166.0 and v0.167.0 will be skipped, with v0.168.0 becoming the next official release on the store.
Update 2026-09-30T12:51:00-07:00
The review queue has been cleared. You can install the latest Hugo build (which is several commits ahead of the latest release) by using the “edge” channel:
$ sudo snap refresh hugo --channel edge
hugo (edge) 0.167.0+git2.ec69d0e64 from Hugo Authors refreshed
To switch back to the “stable” channel:
$ sudo snap refresh hugo --channel stable
hugo 0.165.0 from Hugo Authors refreshed
Presuming there are no more problems with the review queue, the next release to hit the “stable” channel will be v0.168.0.
