How to remove HTML tags in lead without using plainify?

Hello,

I would like to have links in my lead content but I don’t want them to show in the post list, only on the post’s single page.

I thought plainify would work. But, even though it removes the links, it also escapes HTML characters. So, instead of:

artist's studios

I’m now seeing:

artist’s studios

I just want to remove the HTML tags.
How can this be done?
