How do I show time in +8 time zone?

I’m a little confused because .dateFormat looks deprecated? https://gohugo.io/functions/dateformat/

Nothing says deprecated there? My frontmatter has the following:

date: 2005-01-07T03:00:00+07:00

And it’s 3am in UTC+7.
