I want to modify the default youtube shortcode because it doesn’t seem to be working the way I expect with autoplay, loop, controls etc. However, my theme doesn’t override the youtube shortcode, so I need to copy Hugo’s base one (I think). Where can I find it?

You have just proven my point, it seems. Internal templates is not any of the first search results, and the /tpl/tplimpl/embedded/templates github link is not in any of those search results.
