How can I get git commit hashes to display on pages?

Hi community!

I’d like to link my blog with my git repository, to do so, one of the things I find interesting would be to link each post with the last commit that modified the content file… And also why not show the hash of the last commit. My goal being offering more tight integration between source and what you read.

I am pretty new to the use of hugo, so I’d like a few pointers on where to get started to make such a feature exist… :slight_smile:

It is actually work in progress as in, not finished. There are some dependent issues that needs to be solved first, but it is a good idea.
