Having a static/oldsite tacitly creates both public/oldsite and public/oldroot

Hi there

Having a static/oldsite tacitly creates both public/oldsite and public/oldroot

Platform:
Hugo Static Site Generator v0.55.6/extended linux/amd64 BuildDate: unknown

Is this behavior documented anywhere? I can’t find any references to it in the codebase.

Any help appreciated! I don’t have any explicit rewrite rules or aliases in my config for this.

Best,

Eamonn

Hi @eamonnbell. Would you elaborate on this? (in plain words if possible)

Thanks for your reply. I looked again and it was my mistake. I kept seeing a folder inside public/ that I didn’t expect.

I misunderstood how Hugo builds the contents of public/. I had, for some reason, put some content in there. I expected Hugo to tidy up the build output folder before it populates it.
