[Feedback] - AI-powered search on Hugo Docs using Gurubase (open-source)

Hi all :waving_hand:,

I’m one of the maintainers of Gurubase, an open-source AI assistant for technical documentation. We’ve built a Guru (AI Assistant) for the Hugo Docs to provide fast, accurate answers directly from the official docs and codebase.

You can try it here:

https://gurubase.io/g/hugo

How is this different from ChatGPT?

• Gurubase automatically reindexes the docs, so answers stay up to date
• It also indexes the GitHub repository, so if something isn’t in the docs, it can still answer based on code
• Fully open-source and available as a self-hosted or cloud solution

You can deploy it as:
• An “Ask AI” widget on your site
• A Slack or Discord bot
• A GitHub Issues bot

Gurubase is already used by 130+ open-source projects and growing.

Looking forward to your feedback, especially from Hugo contributors and folks who care about docs discoverability and developer support.

Thanks.

Hi, I tried asking some questions – it looks great:

It’s like Stack Overflow that won’t get outdated  Good luck with the project!
