Why are there two versions of the command?

In

I read:

Syntax:

render LAYOUT

but the example is:

.Render "summary"

I use it a lot this way but now I wonder why the documentation is talking about “render”.

Can someone shed light on this?

Same - just another way of writing (I assume). Hint: .Render uses the lookup order and partial not but can be inserted anywhere on the site.

I see the doc has just been fixed :slight_smile:
.Render is a method available on the page context and not a global function.
