Hey @JemmsUK , thanks for your message. Well, relatively simple answer, I built the first version of what eventually became this behemoth back in 2015, and back then, there were only yaml files / data files.

I think by now I would have probably made a different approach. :slight_smile:

I’m not sure how accurate builtwith’s numbers are (172K live Hugo sites seems very high …), but it’s curious to see how Hugo was about to “die” there at some point, but recovered …

If they are, then Hugo is fourth, just behind Next JS, Astro and Nuxt (even though the gap between 3rd and 4th is close to 1 million). Still shows it is popular.
