Hi, I’m Alan.

I spent a lot of time working on the web, but now I’m in data analytics (on the pulling in data side). I’ve been running my site since the 90s. I converted it from hand coded chaos to Wordpress in 2005, then to Jekyll in 2012. It was way better, but the slow build speed got to me when trying to preview draft posts. I kicked around and found Hugo and am loving it so far.

I’m currently finishing up my migration script. Once it’s done, I’ll relaunch the site, moving it from a RackSpace server to an AWS S3 bucket and CloudFront. The site should be super fast. (NOTE: I wrote this in Aug 2019, and may forget to update it so the site may be live when you read this)
