I am trying to override by current theme, and the developer of my theme has mentioned to create a custom.css in the css folder. I did the same. All of my css files have the same value. But somehow whenever I’m generating the static files, my css is overrided to the old again. Magically, when I try to access the file on localhost:1313/css/main.css or custom.css the file is with what changes I made.

Here’s the link to the theme I am using and customizing. [GitHub - knadh/hugo-ink: Crisp, minimal personal website and blog theme for Hugo](https://github.com/knadh/hugo-ink)

The theme you are using is not compatible with the current version of Hugo. The theme hasn’t been updated in a few years. If I were you I would choose a different theme.

To resolve your problem…

Create a file for your custom CSS:

```plaintext
mkdir -p static/css
touch static/css/something.css
```

Your directory structure should look like this:

```plaintext
static/
└── css/
    └── something.css
```

Then add this to your site configuration:

```plaintext
[params]
customCSS = 'css/something.css'
```
