Slim theme markdown italics not rendering correctly

Using _ or * did not work with this theme.

I also tried to use html markup emphasize instead with attributes <em> but it made no difference.

Googled it but couldn’t find anything. e.g., blackfriday .

It was right there in the css file of the theme.

It’s a feature :smile:

em { text-emphasis-style: circle; text-emphasis-position: under; }
why this is the default is the question, really.
