I was editing GitHub - caressofsteel/hugo-story: A (modular, highly tweakable) responsive one-page Hugo template.
I know how to code in html, css, etc… but I am new to hugo: I know I am going to fast, but this is a final project for my class and I have a sleeping disorder so I can only look at the slides on canvas which did not explain how to change the root code. Is there a way I can make the changes on the index.html file in the public folder to the root?
I fixed it myself:
IF anyone has a similar issue and edited the index.html file in the public folder goto:
\ProjectName\layouts_default
create an html file called index and copy and paste your code.
I found posts on this forum with similar issues and the answers were read up: yes that is true if you have the luxury of time then yes read how everything works. But shouldn’t you also give a solution to the issue?

Sure. If you describe the issue we can help to solve the issue.
