Hi there

I’ve been playing around with HUGO for the past several hours, got it installed and running fine locally with the [Console](https://themes.gohugo.io/hugo-theme-console/) theme

I’m just trying to set up a small personal blog - Much like Wordpress shows a blog post list, I want to do the same with HUGO and the Console theme.

From the demo of Console, the author shows a blog post list, dated, post title and an excerpt in the section titled “Latest posts”

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to recreate that myself? The documentation of the theme is very light and I am having a hard time figuring it out.

I have followed the HUGO documentation on creating pages, section and posts but none of these have resulted in being listed on Console.

Please forgive my lack of experience, learning as I go.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

[This the relevant part of the homepage template](https://github.com/mrmierzejewski/hugo-theme-console/blob/master/layouts/index.html#L13-L14) that renders the post list.

You also need to have a look at the following chapters of the Hugo documentation:

> **[Lists of Content in Hugo](https://gohugo.io/templates/lists/)**
>
> Lists have a specific meaning and usage in Hugo when it comes to rendering your site homepage, section page, taxonomy list, or taxonomy terms list.

> **[Page Variables](https://gohugo.io/variables/page/#readout)**
>
> Page-level variables are defined in a content file's front matter, derived from the content's file location, or extracted from the content body itself.

> **[.GetPage](https://gohugo.io/functions/getpage/#readout)**
>
> Gets a \`Page\` of a given \`path\`.

> **[where](https://gohugo.io/functions/where/#mainsections)**
>
> Filters an array to only the elements containing a matching value for a given field.

Thank you very much for the prompt response @alexandros

I’ll give those a read, seeing that snippet highlighted helps me understand it a bit better.
