I converted my site, [https://blog.mbedded.ninja/](https://blog.mbedded.ninja/), from Wordpress to Hugo about a year ago. Never looked back! Having the content locally on my system, being able to push and track changes with `git` (the site’s repo is at [https://github.com/gbmhunter/blog](https://github.com/gbmhunter/blog)), and not having to worry about server performance are great features I love about static site generation (Hugo in particular).
