# Markdown is not rendered as expected

Hi!

I’m currently working with [Congo](https://jpanther.github.io/congo/) theme that uses Tailwind CSS.  
After [building the theme CSS from the source](https://jpanther.github.io/congo/docs/advanced-customisation/#building-the-theme-css-from-source) I stumbled upon an issue that neither front matter variable or content is rendered with appropriate styles through markdown processor (goldmark).  
For example front matter variable

```auto
content: " 
1. List item
2. List item
3. List item
"

```

This is what I see in browser.

As far as I understand it renders using Tailwind default styles and I am not sure why it is not processed as markdown content despite using `markdownify` function. I can manually add inline styles that are required in layout files but it doesn’t feel like the right way at all 🙂

It’s my first theme customization and I am not sure where to look to achieve desired behavior.  
Any help is appreciated!

You need to do this:

```

@jmooring thanks. It yields a an ordered list now, however, it’s does not rended numbers preceding the item (same for unordered list). I am not sure how to add right styles to compiled CSS file, so that I could get markdown styles as well.
