# Issue discussions - on Github comments or Discussion Forum at Hugo?

Hi

I’m someone who’s recently learnt golang and would like to contribute to HUGO. I think I’ve found an issue(a bug) I’d like to pursue which isn’t assigned to anyone yet. So to get started, do I start off by commenting on it? I saw that as the suggested way [here](https://discuss.gohugo.io/t/contributing-to-hugo/3989)

Further, I am trying to reproduce the issue but need a few clarifications from the user who opened the issue. Is the right place to do that on the issue comments section? If not, where else can it be done?

For reference I’m looking at [Issue#w983](https://github.com/spf13/hugo/issues/2983)
