# Hugo themem create home page and seperatly a route to display blog post

I’m making some changes to a theme. How can I setup a stand alone homepage and transferring the published post to a different route?

You will need to read all the documentation on [themes](https://gohugo.io/themes/). Then review everything about [templates](https://gohugo.io/templates/), specifically the [homepage template](https://gohugo.io/templates/homepage/).
