# How to add our own robots.txt to hugo site

I have a robots.txt sent by my SEO person,

User-agent: *

Sitemap: https://www.prabhatha.com/sitemap.xml

```

this page ([https://gohugo.io/templates/robots/#robotstxt-template-lookup-order](https://gohugo.io/templates/robots/#robotstxt-template-lookup-order)) tells us to add our file to static. Which static it is. Under themes or site (root) static?
